3.2 Informative references 3.2.1 A list of informative references to laws and regulations for clothes drying appliances is provided in Annex B. 4 Definitions 4.1 The following definitions shall apply in this Standard: 4.2 Accreditation – third-party attestation related to a conformity assessment body conveying a formal demonstration of its competence to carry out specific conformity assessment tasks. Note: These tasks include sampling and testing, inspection, certification, and registration. This Standard is based on multiple attributes. 4.5 Brand owner – a company that manages a brand name. This company might or might not have engineering, manufacturing, or quality assurance activities. 4.11 Electric clothes dryer – a cabinet-like appliance designed to dry fabrics in a tumble-type drum with forced air circulation. The heat source is electricity and the drum and blower(s) are driven by an electric motor(s).
